I am starting a “Pox Slush Fund.” This fund, essentially, would be to pay for guild things, such as ventrilo and the website. The website costs me $10 monthly, ventrilo $15. In the past, people have stepped up to help pay, but this way, people can if they feel an obligation.
But also, any money saved in the slush fund could be used to help out guildmates in need. Regular people who are around every day, but run into problems.
Right now, Saeran is looking for work, but has a roof over his head and things aren’t terrible. Except his video card just went tits up. This is the second reason there’s a donate button.
I have no problem buying Saeran a new video card. Except I’m broke right now. So I am asking people who CAN afford to help to do so. There are two ways to do this:
- You make a donation. Donations aren’t repaid.
- You make a loan. I can repay these starting July 1 or shortly thereafter (it takes time to transfer money from my bank account to PayPal, unfortunately, as I don’t have a credit card).
Any donations not used to pay for Saeran’s new video card will be used to pay for ventrilo and the website hosting going forward. And if shit hits the fan for other guildies in the future, perhaps we can help them too.
I believe that what goes around comes around. Pox stood up for me when I needed help, and I am willing to do that for anyone. With that in mind, my donation to the Pox slush fund on July 1 will be repaying the loans, but I’ll be contributing regularly in the future too.
Love you all :)
Just an update for everyone:
The guild slush fund now stands at: $218.89.
The Saeran Video Card portion is $131.80.
The ventrilo/website portion is $87.09.
If Saeran does manage to whore himself out suitably on his end we may not need to actually purchase him one. If that is the case, I will be contacing those who donated to see if they want the money returned or if they want to roll it into the slush fund in general.
Why such a funny number? Any time I receive a payment in excess of $50, PayPal hits me with a service charge because I’m technically a business. If you want to avoid that, please send amounts below $50.
I will also be making a post for all to read about how this fund can be used and requested from.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed. It is wonderful to see such a passion for the guild and its members.
